We love our Holy Cross traditions and our annual All Hallow’s Eve celebration is particularly cherished. It was a delightfully spooky day at school, featuring a traditional dress-up day and an energetic dance filled with school spirit and cheering as classmates showcased their costumes. Thank you to our exceptional Parent School Group and our grade 6 parent volunteers for preparing the annual Halloween Dance tradition. Also, as part of our community outreach, elementary students visited the Hamlets senior assisted living community for a trick or treat experience and a wonderful festive presentation.
“While some people have connected Halloween to earlier pagan celebrations of the new year, Halloween actually has significant Catholic roots. The name itself comes from All Hallow’s Eve – that is, the Vigil of All Saints’ Day, when Catholics remember those who have gone before us to enter our heavenly home. Immediately afterwards, on November 2, the Church commemorates all the faithful departed and prays in suffrage for them.” Vatican News
