Have a listen to CBC’s Daybreak South with Chris Walker as he interviews our Humanities and Civics Educator Mrs. Cumberland and alumni Sophie Robinson. They will explain how our students will be participating in a shadow election process through Student Vote BC, which is run by Elections BC and CIVIX Canada.
Mrs. Cumberland and our Grade 8 students will be visiting classrooms to help students learn about democracy and governance. Students will also be presenting each candidate’s platform as it relates to the three issues our students choose as being most important to them. The grade 8 class will create a list of issues and will vote in class to determine the top 3. This narrows down their research and presents students with an easy to understand set of points to consider.
